Dominican cuisine is a reflection of the Spanish, Taino and African influences that have influenced the social and cultural formation of the country.

                                      Sancocho

For us the sancocho is the official dominican dish. It is a soup that has as ingredients:

                                     •meats
                                   
                                  •vegetables
                                         
                                     •victuals 

Also the sancocho is not only Dominican, some Latin American countries have their version of sancocho. 

The white rice 

It is found in a lot of dishes in our dominican cuisine. It is the main element of our famous dish "La Bandera Dominicana". The white rice is also one of the side dishes we eat every day . The rice is the main side dish of :

•stewed beans 

•chicken or beef
