  The accordion  It is an instrument that appears in the Dominican Republic at the end of the last century, arriving from Germany. The accordion is used in our music "the merengue" and it is also a musical harmonic wind instrument, consisting of a bellows, a tuning fork and two boxes of harmonics of wood. The tambora Is a percussion instrument cylindrical two-patch tape, which is used for most Dominican folk dances. The tambora is a typical instrument that gives relief to the rhythm of the merengue and other pieces of our folklore.

The Typical Dominican Instruments  The Dominican Republic has within  its traditional music a great variety and richness at a harmonic and instrumental level.  Some typical Dominican instruments are: La Güira : is a percussion instrument used in different musical genres, such as the Dominican merengue, cumbia, northern music, among others. It is also a tropical Antillean instrument, its shape is cylindrical, and ends at the top in a rod-shaped curve.

The mofongo This popular and delicious dish is present in the menus of the Dominican Republic. The mofongo is made of fried green plantain , garlic , olive oil an pork chicharron are added .             The mangú The mangú is basically a puree of green plantains, and it is made by boiling the plantains and they are crushed until a puree is obtained. The mangu is a typical dish of some caribbean countries such as the Dominican Republic.

Stewed beans                    They are an abundant and economic source of protein, which makes them a very popular ingredient in Latin America. Stewed beans are served with white rice and are an important ingredient of our traditional lunch "La Bandera Dominicana".
